Grenada plans to build a waste tire and e-waste recycling plant

According to a report from *Grenada New Today* on August 21, the Government of Grenada recently signed a memorandum of cooperation with Canada's HARD Energy to plan and build a waste tire and e-waste recycling plant. At present, waste tires in Grenada can only be stockpiled, which occupies landfill land, breeds mosquitoes and insects, and is prone to fires. The project plans to build Grenada into a waste treatment hub in the Caribbean region, accepting materials from surrounding island countries. The rubber particles obtained from waste tire dismantling can be exported for overseas sales or reused locally, and the entire plant will be fully powered by solar energy and biomass energy. At present, the enterprise is carrying out site survey and feasibility research.
