Kenya seeks international capital to invest in key infrastructure projects
According to a report by *The Kenyan* on September 16, Kenya promoted 13 key infrastructure projects to international investors at the 2026 Global Infrastructure Cooperation Conference (GICC) held in Seoul, South Korea, covering fields including transportation, energy, water utilities, irrigation and ICT. The key projects include the Nairobi-Mombasa Expressway, the Mau Summit-Eldoret-Malaba Road, the expansion of the Konza Cloud Computing Center, the Digital Media City, the Kibuku Falls Hydropower and Irrigation Dam, the 1200MW East Gogunduo Power Plant, the commercial space launch site and relevant assets of the Kenya Ports Authority, etc. The Kenya Public-Private Partnership Unit stated that the government intends to push forward the implementation of the projects through the PPP model and long-term financing, and use the National Infrastructure Fund to mobilize domestic capital such as pension funds, insurance funds and securities investment funds.
