China firmly ranked as Colombia's largest source of imports in August.

According to a report from Colombia's La República on October 21, Colombia's import volume reached 7.7025 billion US dollars in August 2026, representing a year-on-year increase of 31.7%. Manufactured products remained the main imported category, accounting for 70.6% of the total import value of the month, with a year-on-year growth of 18.9%. In terms of import sources, China continues to maintain its status as Colombia's largest source of imports. Colombia's imports from China in August amounted to 2.1786 billion US dollars, accounting for 28.3% of the total import value, up 26.6% year on year. The main imported products include passenger vehicles, mechanical shovels, excavators and loaders. The United States ranks second, accounting for 22.5% of the total import value of the month, followed by Brazil, Mexico and Germany.
