Saudi Arabia has launched investment opportunities worth 2 billion Saudi riyals in the waste management sector.

Saudi Arabia has launched 27 waste treatment investment plans, with a total value of more than 2 billion Saudi riyals.

According to a report by Saudi Press Agency on August 25, the Saudi National Waste Management Center (MWAN) has launched 27 investment plans to develop and operate 33 waste treatment facilities in multiple regions of Saudi Arabia. The projects cover classified treatment facilities for construction and demolition waste, medical and slaughter waste, as well as municipal solid waste, with a total value of more than 2 billion Saudi riyals.

Among them, there are 7 projects in Medina with a total value of 780 million Saudi riyals; 2 projects in Mecca with a total value of 96.8 million Saudi riyals; 13 projects in Dammam with a total value of 973 million Saudi riyals; 1 project in Tabuk with a value of 34 million Saudi riyals; 4 projects in Al-Qassim Region with a total value of 235 million Saudi riyals.

The total land area of these projects exceeds 1.8 million square meters, with a processing capacity of up to 7 million tons. It is expected that these wastes will no longer be landfilled, but diverted to treatment and recycling channels, so as to improve environmental and economic benefits.
