The central banks of China and Laos renew relevant cooperation documents

The central banks of China and Laos have renewed agreements including a bilateral local currency swap deal to deepen bilateral financial, economic and trade cooperation.

On June 8, reporters learned from the People's Bank of China that the People's Bank of China and the Bank of the Lao People's Democratic Republic recently renewed the "Bilateral Local Currency Swap Agreement between the People's Bank of China and the Bank of the Lao People's Democratic Republic for RMB/Lao Kip". At the same time, the central banks of the two countries also renewed the "Memorandum of Understanding between the People's Bank of China and the Bank of the Lao People's Democratic Republic on Strengthening Cooperation in Financial Innovation, Digital Payment, and Central Bank Digital Currency".

The People's Bank of China stated that the signing of the above cooperation documents will help promote bilateral financial cooperation between China and Laos and deepen the economic and trade relations between the two countries.
