US Unveils New Tariff Measures Effective on July 24
The Office of the United States Trade Representative issued an announcement on the 23rd, stating that in accordance with Section 301 of the Trade Act of 1974, tariffs ranging from 10% to 12.5% will be imposed on dozens of countries and regions under the so-called "forced labor" pretext, to replace the expiring global import tariffs. The new tariffs will take effect at 00:01 Eastern Daylight Time on July 24. After the US Supreme Court rejected the Trump administration's largest-scale tariff measure in February this year, the administration adopted a temporary 10% global tariff measure, which will expire at 00:01 Eastern Daylight Time on July 24.
