On July 14, the BRICS Countries Visit Hangzhou Area of China (Zhejiang) Pilot Free Trade Zone event was held in Hangzhou. As one of the events under the "BRICS Express · Hangzhou Towards BRICS" series, this event was hosted by the Hangzhou Municipal Bureau of Commerce (Free Trade Commission), and co-organized by the Almaty Investment Promotion Center and the Binjiang Block of the Hangzhou Free Trade Zone. Wang Yongfang, Director of the Hangzhou Municipal Bureau of Commerce, and Zhashibekov Adlar, Vice Chairman of the Board of the Almaty Investment Promotion Center, attended and delivered speeches. Chen Weijing, Deputy Director of the Hangzhou Municipal Bureau of Commerce and Deputy Director of the Free Trade Commission, was present at the event. Relevant principals from the Qiantang Block, Xiaoshan Block and Binjiang Block of the Hangzhou Area, as well as representatives from more than 20 enterprises in fields including new energy, auto parts, aviation and home appliances, participated in the event.

Wang Yongfang stated that Kazakhstan, as a BRICS partner country, boasts prominent geographical advantages, and various industrial parks in Almaty serve as critical pivots for Hangzhou enterprises to deepen their presence in the Central Asian market. Hangzhou has continued to leverage the platform role of the BRICS Center, launched direct flights to Almaty, and implemented the China-Kazakhstan Smart Port project. Next, the two cities will promote the establishment of a long-term cooperation mechanism between their special economic zones to expand cooperation space. Zhashibekov Adlar introduced investment tracks in Almaty covering the digital economy, artificial intelligence, new energy and other sectors, and sincerely invited Hangzhou enterprises to invest and start businesses locally.

At the event site, relevant enterprises carried out supply-demand matching and negotiations with the Almaty Investment Promotion Center on themes such as cross-border logistics, bonded warehousing, and two-way trade. After the event, all guests visited the Hangzhou Embodied Intelligence Exhibition Center to experience the development achievements of the digital intelligent manufacturing and intelligent equipment industries on site.
