Dubai launches the world's first integrated air taxi vertiport
On the 16th, Dubai, the United Arab Emirates, announced the opening of the world's first integrated air taxi vertiport, marking an important step for the UAE in developing an advanced and sustainable urban transportation system. The vertiport is located near Dubai International Airport, covering an area of approximately 3,100 square meters. It is a four - story building with two dedicated take - off and landing platforms for electric vertical take - off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft and supporting parking facilities. The project is promoted with the support of Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Crown Prince of Dubai. The project is expected to receive about 170,000 passengers annually, and the commercial operation of air taxis is planned to start by the end of 2026.
