During the 3rd China-Uzbekistan Local Cooperation Forum, cooperation agreements worth $3.5 billion were signed.
According to a report by Uz Daily on May 28, the Press Office of the Tashkent City Government stated that during the Third China-Uzbekistan Local Cooperation Forum held in Xi'an, the two sides signed investment and export agreements worth a total of $3.5 billion. Among them, the investment projects amount to $3.35 billion, and the export contracts to China are worth $156 million.
According to the agreements, the two sides will promote a number of cooperation projects in fields such as infrastructure, transportation, construction, ecological environment protection, and industry. The relevant projects will mainly be implemented in the "EPC + F" mode by Chinese enterprises. The financing will be provided by Chinese partners, without using the Uzbek government's fiscal funds and national guarantees. The subsequent repayment will also be paid in stages from the newly increased fiscal revenue of the city.
The key cooperation projects reached by the two sides include: the construction of drainage, irrigation, and rainwater treatment systems ($400 million), the construction of a 24-hour commercial street ($100 million), the construction of high-rise residential buildings in urban renewal areas ($500 million), the BRT rapid transit and road infrastructure project ($1 billion), the joint investment project in transportation and social infrastructure ($1 billion), as well as industrial projects such as the production of decorative stone ($150 million), intelligent garbage sorting equipment, and ceramic products. In addition, Tashkent also discussed cooperation in the "Yangi Avlod" Special Industrial Zone with Chinese enterprises Jwise, Zhongke Honghu, CAS Cloud, and UMGG, and signed investment cooperation agreements worth a total of $130 million, covering production, technology, and commercial infrastructure construction, as well as the implementation of high-tech projects.
