The Cambodia Investment Matchmaking Event, part of the "Set Sail from Zhejiang" series, was successfully held in Hangzhou | Frontline of the Event
On March 30th, the Cambodia Investment Matching Conference, part of the "Set Sail from Zhejiang" series of activities, jointly hosted by the Bureau of Commerce of Qiantang District, Hangzhou, the Comprehensive Service Port for Zhejiang Enterprises Going Global, and the Zhejiang Branch of China Export & Credit Insurance Corporation (hereinafter referred to as "China Export & Credit Insurance Corporation Zhejiang Branch"), and specially supported by the Bouge Economic Special Zone in Cambodia, was successfully held at the Comprehensive Service Port for Zhejiang Enterprises Going Global. This event focused on investment opportunities in Cambodia, industrial cooperation, and key pain points in the process of enterprise implementation, attracting representatives from multiple enterprises in fields such as leather and textile, machinery manufacturing, new materials, and logistics.
At the event site, guests from the Zhejiang Branch of China Export & Credit Insurance Corporation and the Bouge Economic Special Zone in Cambodia conducted in-depth sharing on topics such as Cambodian market policies, business environment, and investment risk prevention, providing cutting-edge investment decision-making references for enterprises.
The Zhejiang Branch of China Export & Credit Insurance Corporation focused on sharing about the international environment faced by enterprises "going global". Currently, the international environment presents both opportunities and challenges. On the one hand, agreements such as the China-Cambodia Free Trade Agreement and RCEP will further boost bilateral economic and trade cooperation; on the other hand, the international environment is becoming increasingly complex, and risk forms are changing rapidly. Enterprises "going global" face more direct and changeable risks. The Zhejiang Branch of China Export & Credit Insurance Corporation introduced the specific applications of China Export & Credit Insurance in financing credit enhancement and loss compensation, combined with supporting Chinese enterprises in undertaking projects such as the self-provided power station in the Sihanoukville Special Economic Zone in Cambodia and investing in the Cambodian International Airport, to help enterprises effectively identify risks and make stable overseas layouts.
Ge Jianfeng, the deputy general manager of the Bouge Economic Special Zone in Cambodia, focused on introducing the investment environment in Cambodia and the advantages of the special zone. Cambodia has a stable political situation and friendly relations with China. It enjoys policy dividends such as low-tariff access to European and American markets, the US dollar as the main currency with no foreign exchange restrictions, and 100% foreign ownership with a maximum of 9 + 6 years of income tax exemption. The Bouge Economic Special Zone in Cambodia has a planned total area of 153 hectares and is positioned as a low-pollution, multi-industry integrated comprehensive park where "people work between mountains and seas and live in a scenic environment". Currently, multiple projects in fields such as pet food and supplies, textiles, hardware, furniture, sanitary ware, and plastic products have been introduced, initially forming an industrial cluster.
During the free exchange session, participating enterprises had in-depth discussions with guests on practical issues such as land policies, labor management, foreign exchange settlement, and tax compliance, and the atmosphere at the scene was lively.
In the future, the Comprehensive Service Port for Zhejiang Enterprises Going Global will continue to organize more themed activities such as investment matching for specific countries and demand implementation based on the actual needs of enterprises "going global", and build a public service platform for information exchange, resource sharing, and win-win cooperation to help Zhejiang enterprises go global with high quality and make stable global market layouts.
