On the afternoon of June 10, a group from the Training and Research Office for International Business Officials of the Ministry of Commerce's "Special Training Course on Exporting to China for English-speaking African Countries" visited Qiantang District, Hangzhou. They successively went to Zhejiang-Africa Service Center, China Cooperation Center for Special Economic Zones of BRICS Countries, and Zhejiang Enterprises' Overseas Comprehensive Service Port for training and exchanges, and personally experienced the practical achievements of Qiantang District in opening up and cooperation with Africa, industrial platform construction, cross-border trade services, and support for enterprises going global.
The event focused on the theme of "Exporting to China" and aimed to thoroughly implement the initiative of high-quality co-construction of the "Belt and Road", further serve the overall situation of China's economic and trade cooperation with Africa, build an exchange window for English-speaking African countries, and promote mutual trust and cooperation between China and Africa in areas such as trade, industrial collaboration, and platform co-construction.
During the visit and exchange at the Zhejiang-Africa Service Center, the center introduced the foundation, service mechanism, and typical practices of Zhejiang's economic and trade cooperation with Africa, and demonstrated the service paths for Zhejiang enterprises to connect with the African market and for high-quality African products to enter the Chinese market. As an important service platform connecting Zhejiang enterprises with the African market, the Zhejiang-Africa Service Center focuses on information docking, trade promotion, project services, and exchange and cooperation, and continuously provides support for enterprises to "go global" and products to "come in". During the visit, the trainees had interactive exchanges on topics such as African products entering the Chinese market, cross-border cooperation needs of enterprises, and the operating mechanism of local service platforms.
In the exhibition hall of the China Cooperation Center for Special Economic Zones of BRICS Countries, through exhibition introductions, case displays, and interactive explanations, the trainees further understood the functional positioning and construction progress of the cooperation center in promoting exchanges and cooperation among special economic zones in BRICS countries and emerging markets, facilitating the docking of industrial resources, and serving international production capacity cooperation.
At the special symposium on the theme of "Exporting to China" held at the Zhejiang Enterprises' Overseas Comprehensive Service Port, relevant officials from the Qiantang District Bureau of Commerce and the preparatory group of the BRICS Economic and Trade Cooperation Development Promotion Center said in their speeches that China and Africa are good friends and partners who trust and develop together. In recent years, China-Africa economic and trade cooperation has been continuously deepened. China has remained Africa's largest trading partner for many consecutive years and has created more favorable conditions for African products to enter the Chinese market. It is hoped that through this exchange, the trainees can better understand the Chinese market demand, economic and trade environment, and cooperation opportunities, and further enhance their confidence in cooperation with China.
Mei Fei, a relevant official from the Nigerian business representative office in Zhejiang, shared her experience in providing business services in China and talked about practical issues such as compliance requirements, data protection, capital flow, and contract signing for African enterprises entering the Chinese market. She reminded that enterprises intending to do business in China should pay attention to industry access, data compliance, and capital flow rules. Especially in cross-border trade, they should ensure that the contract amount, payment amount, and bank materials are consistent. At the same time, they should attach great importance to written contracts and legal terms and avoid relying solely on oral commitments or informal communication.
A representative from Alibaba Cloud International gave a theme sharing on artificial intelligence, cloud computing, and digital infrastructure, and introduced Alibaba Group's business layout and Alibaba Cloud's capabilities in large AI models, cloud infrastructure, data security, compliance services, and global service networks. The relevant official said that AI and cloud computing are becoming important foundations for industrial upgrading and international cooperation. Alibaba Cloud can provide safe, stable, and sustainable digital solutions for multiple industries such as government, finance, manufacturing, education, energy, and healthcare, and help African partners improve their digital economy development capabilities.
A representative from Hangdian Manufacturing introduced the company's practices in power equipment manufacturing, intelligent power distribution, power supply support for major events, and overseas project services. The company has long focused on products and solutions such as high and low voltage complete sets of equipment, prefabricated substations, and intelligent power distribution systems. It has served major projects such as the Hangzhou Asian Games, the G20 Hangzhou Summit, and the World Internet Conference, and has participated in overseas projects in Kenya and other countries. In response to the needs of African urban construction and industrial development, the company can provide support in areas such as energy engineering, power equipment supply, energy planning, photovoltaic power generation, microgrids, and charging facilities.
The trainee representatives of the training course said in the exchange that through this on-site training, they had a more intuitive understanding of the practical paths for local Chinese regions to promote opening up and cooperation. The experience of Qiantang District in platform construction, service integration, and industrial collaboration provides useful references for English-speaking African countries to deepen economic and trade cooperation with China and improve their ability to export to China. They look forward to taking this training as an opportunity to further strengthen communication and cooperation between the two sides in areas such as trade promotion, industrial parks, cross-border services, and cultural exchanges.
This training and exchange activity is an important practice for Qiantang District to serve China-Africa economic and trade cooperation and showcase the achievements of its opening-up platform construction. In the next step, Qiantang District will continue to focus on the high-quality co-construction of the "Belt and Road", rely on platforms such as the Zhejiang-Africa Service Center, the China Cooperation Center for Special Economic Zones of BRICS Countries, and the Zhejiang Enterprises' Overseas Comprehensive Service Port, and continuously deepen practical cooperation with African countries in the fields of economy and trade, industry, digitalization, and energy services, contributing more Qiantang strength to promoting in-depth and solid China-Africa opening-up cooperation.
