Argentina cancels the withholding tax on mining exports
Argentina Cancels Export Taxes on 200 Mineral Products, Excluding Silver and Lithium, Effective in 2025
Recently, the Argentine government issued Decree No. 563/2025 in the "Official Gazette", canceling the withholding tax on mineral exports. This covers 200 types of mineral products such as gold, copper, and limestone, but does not include silver and lithium mineral products. This measure aims to increase the added value of mineral exports, promote the development of the mining industry, and stimulate the potential for economic growth. It will officially come into effect on August 8, 2025. At the same time, the Argentine government has decided to abolish Decree No. 308/2022 to simplify the procedures related to copper exports.
