Croatian Special Economic Zone
The Croatian Special Economic Zone (Free Zone/Croatian Special Economic Zone) is a special economic region established by Croatia under the Free Zones Act, primarily located adjacent to transportation hubs such as seaports, airports, and river ports, including the free zones of Zagreb, Osijek, Rijeka, and Split. As a key gateway to the European Union member states, Croatia is strategically situated at the junction of Central Europe and the Mediterranean, serving as an important node in the joint construction of the "Belt and Road" Initiative. Among these, the operating entity of the Osijek Free Zone, "Croatian Special Economic Zone Ltd." (SEZ), is a specialized institution focused on serving Chinese enterprises seeking to enter the EU market. It holds long-term airport operation rights, possesses large bonded warehousing facilities, and has a comprehensive local logistics network.
