As one of the six major events of the Audiovisual Week, the national promotion campaign for the 2026 China-ASEAN Micro Short Drama Contest is being carried out in depth. The Hangzhou special promotion event, based on the advantages of the Yangtze River Delta cross-border digital industry cluster and Zhejiang's mature short drama overseas service system, accurately builds a bridge for the connection between think tank research and market practice. Focusing on the core pain points of the industry's overseas expansion, the event invited industry experts to give special sharing sessions on ASEAN culture at the promotion event, systematically analyze the cultural characteristics, religious etiquette, aesthetic preferences and content communication features of ASEAN, sort out the underlying logic of ASEAN content creation, and provide professional and accurate cross-cultural creation guidance for the majority of practitioners. Relying on the intellectual achievements and cooperation resources of this promotion event, the contest will further connect "cultural adaptation + overseas operation" to build a more mature cross-border content creation and communication system.

The Chongqing special promotion event deeply connects local industrial resources, clearly interprets the contest's ASEAN creation orientation, special support policies and supporting overseas communication resources for the majority of creation teams, production bases and film and television enterprises, guides local high-quality production capacity to focus on the market demand of ASEAN, and create micro short drama works adapted to the aesthetics of Southeast Asian audiences. This promotion event also set up a practical experience zone for the Feitutu AI Short Drama Co-creation Platform.

The 2026 China-ASEAN Micro Short Drama Contest sets up three competition categories: live-action micro short drama, AI micro short drama and original script. The maximum support for live-action micro short drama is 1 million yuan, and the maximum support for AI micro short drama is 200,000 yuan. At present, the collection of works is continuing to heat up. Professional evaluation will be carried out from mid-August to late September. The awards will be presented at the opening ceremony gala of the 8th China-ASEAN Audiovisual Week to be held in October, and a contest results release and promotion event will be held, where the *China-ASEAN Micro Short Drama International Communication Development Report* will be released simultaneously.
