The construction of a Polish outer port will receive an investment of 5 billion yuan, increasing the throughput capacity by 25 million tons and is scheduled to be completed in 2031.

According to a report by Business Insider on March 3rd, the Polish port city of Gdynia is implementing its largest investment project in history - the construction of an outer port, which will significantly enhance the port's operational capacity. It is planned to build a new terminal area covering about 150 hectares on the basis of the existing coal terminal, including a container terminal and other related facilities. By deepening the berth water depth to 17 meters, the port will be able to accommodate the largest Baltimax-class container ships, and the annual cargo handling capacity will increase by about 25 million tons (about 2.5 million TEUs). The project investment is estimated to be about 5 billion Polish zlotys. If the tender offer is appropriate, the first-phase construction is planned to be completed as scheduled before 2031. The project aims to enhance Poland's economic resilience to risks and meet the growing demand for freight volume.
