A delegation from the provincial, municipal, and district levels of the China Cooperation Center for Special Economic Zones of BRICS Countries visite
To further strengthen communication and exchanges with the Consulate General of Egypt in Shanghai and promote cooperation between China and Egypt in bilateral economic exchanges such as investment and trade, while promoting Egypt's economic development and assisting Chinese enterprises to successfully expand into the Egyptian market, on May 20th, a delegation from the China Cooperation Center for Special Economic Zones of BRICS countries at the provincial, municipal, and district levels (hereinafter referred to as the "China Cooperation Center Delegation") visited the Consulate General of Egypt in Shanghai.
The China Cooperation Center Delegation had in-depth exchanges on multiple topics with Mr. Iman Hussein, the Counselor with the rank of Minister-Counselor of the Economic and Commercial Office of the Consulate General of Egypt in Shanghai (hereinafter referred to as the "Egyptian Commercial Counselor"). Relevant enterprises such as 36Kr, Weichai Power, China Mobile (Qiantang Branch), Dafeng Industry, and Hangxiao Steel Structure also participated in the discussions.
During the visit, the China Cooperation Center Delegation introduced to the Egyptian Commercial Counselor the work progress of the China Cooperation Center and the plan for recent key activities. They expressed the hope to establish regular contacts with the management institutions of Egypt's special economic zones. The China Cooperation Center also invited business institutions in North Africa to settle in the China Enterprises International Service Center and set up business representative offices.
The Egyptian Commercial Counselor also introduced the economic development situation and cooperation opportunities in Egypt. Regarding the above cooperation topics, the Egyptian Commercial Counselor said that he was willing to assist the China Cooperation Center in establishing long-term and stable contacts with the management institution of the Suez Canal Economic Zone.
Egypt officially joined the BRICS in 2024, becoming an important representative of the mechanism in the Middle East and Africa. Currently, Egypt is particularly concerned about cooperation in foreign economic and trade in four major fields: new energy (wind energy, solar energy, etc.), automobiles (establishing factories), petrochemicals, and green mining. On the same day, the enterprises in the delegation also introduced their respective company's business situations and shared potential future cooperation directions.
It is reported that the Egyptian Commercial Counselor will be invited to participate in the "Sailing on the Maritime Silk Road, Creating a New Future" - China-North Africa (Egypt) Bilateral Investment Thematic Event on June 13th. The event is hosted by the Qiantang District Bureau of Commerce and Hangzhou Qiantang New Area Construction Investment Group Co., Ltd., and co-organized by Hangzhou Jianghai City Investment and Development Co., Ltd. and the China Enterprises International Service Center.

The China Enterprises International Service Center will host the 2025 China-North Africa (Egypt) Bilateral Investment Thematic Event on June 13th, 2025.
