Conducted the first systematic study of Silk Road cities spanning the Central and Western segments, employing a global perspective to reconstruct the trajectory of world history through the lens of "Silk Road cities," thereby highlighting the enduring essence of the Silk Road Spirit in cultural exchanges between ancient/modern China and Central Asia, West Asia, and North Africa. Advanced Civilizational Interaction Theory to emphasize the role of Silk Road empires, particularly nomadic empires, in shaping urban development along the Silk Road. Identified grid-like developmental trends (both east-west and north-south) and the dynamic expansion patterns of Silk Road cities. Innovatively applied transnational historical methodology to examine the role of "human agency" across three relational spaces: natural, social, and spiritual (constructed through routes, cities, people, and material culture), offering novel perspectives for deepening research on Silk Road memory and its historical-contemporary continuity.
