The Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development of Nepal has applied to the Ministry of Finance for an additional 10 billion Nepalese rupees to purchase chemical fertilizers, aiming to achieve the goal of purchasing 600,000 tons of fertilizers in the fiscal year 2025/26. It is reported that the initial budget for fertilizer procurement in this fiscal year was only 28.82 billion Nepalese rupees, which could only cover the procurement of 471,000 tons of fertilizers, leaving a gap of 129,000 tons compared with the target. Therefore, additional funds need to be applied for to make up for the shortfall.
